i think she's a professional yearner for beat at any given time
Look, here's the thing about Sforzando. Is she maniacal? Yes. Is she cruel? Almost certainly. Does she have an ego the size of a planet? Oh, for sure.
But she spent seven years soloing a cognitohazard that could have easily ended the universe and she didn't crack under the pressure until she ended up in a lesbian situationship, which, you know, understandable.
And that is why she is my GOAT and beloved wife.
Unbeatable thoughts. Chapter 5 spoilers under the cut
Thinking about the HARM Assault. Thinking about THAT scene and everything up to that.
The elevator ride fight. Where Sforzando let's the mask slip a little and live DJs the whole thing. It's awesome. Treble was right. Compared to that the music she produces for the band does sound lifeless. Because it wasn't her real music. Penny was a disguise.
Her journal makes it clear she genuinely liked Beat. That was kinda down bad for her. I mean that entire bartender sequence? Come on. What did she feel in that moment? When Beat stepped off the elevator and said she was a sick DJ. Beat who's entire life is music. She must have been ecstatic. To be seen. Appreciated.
Then there's the reveal. When she finally drops the entire disguise. She enthusiastically tears of her mask. She's giddy about the whole thing. She wanted Beat to see her so bad. It must have been torture being Penny.
What did Beat feel? The affection never seemed one sided to me. She spends all of Chapter 4 emotionally leaning on Penny. Goes out to bars in the middle of the night with her. Like she's into her as more then just a producer. .
forgot i took one thousand screenshots of sforzando. these are my favorites
Graphite's Infernal State
The excess energy of Teijru, and all fervals in general, is known as "fervor." Often displaying properties of fire and electricity, it typically clings close to most fervals and can be manipulated via extrasensory abilities. If all the fervor is forced within the ferval's body, it can lead to the inner workings of the body going much faster. This allows the ferval to become stronger and faster, and can help the body heal significant wounds in seconds. But this can stress the body when used for prolonged periods of time, potentially leading to hyperventilation, seizures, and heart and/or brain damage, among other things. This is officially referred to as self-induced hyperfervor; to some, it's called an Infernal State.
This illustration shows Graphite in the Infernal State. He utilizes it the most out of anyone on Kheji, and is the driving force behind his Sforzando technique -- striking "suddenly with great force." He can perform complex, powerful moves almost instantly, one after another, by inducing the Infernal State in very brief instances. With the amount of fervor he possesses, he can perform several powerful attacks and still stand steady. That doesn't mean he's fully avoiding the dangerous risks of hyperfervor, but considering he's accepted death as a constant possibility in his line of work, he's not so worried about his well-being so long as he can defeat threats effectively.
btw I made a new guy for cadenzaverse. probably for the sequel I don't think I can put him in cadenza story itself without making it too complicated of story. but his name (not name name) is sforzando and he's an arrogant jerk. I gotta figure out his actual name tho
