On a cold London morning, Jackson and Diana meet by the canal, and in their usual game of manipulation, Standish remains the key piece in both of their attempts to maintain control.
“I’ve dealt with men like Lamb before,” Flyte had commented to her that morning. “I don’t think you have,” she replied without thinking. It was true; she had never met anyone like him. It was both an insult and a compliment in equal measure.
