Wildlife photographer Sha Lu captured this photo where the prey, about to be eaten, locks eyes with the camera. At first, I closed the window and looked away, trying to forget what I saw because it made me sad deep down inside. But as I stood in the kitchen about to fill up my water bottle, I thought about it a different way.

That little critter gets to fly. It may be before they die (there's always a chance they get away!), but at least there was the exhilarating feeling of flying for once in its life.
