Confirmed: Taapsee Pannu Is Doing The Biopic Of Mithali Raj Which Will Come With The Title ‘Shabaash Mithu’

For some time now, a trend of doing sports biopic can be seen in Bollywood. It is a trend that is still strong and not going down at all. Now, another sports based film has been announced. On the occasion, journey of women Indian cricketer Mithali Raj will be showcased onscreen. Badla fame actress Taapsee has been chosen by the makers to play the lead. Mithali is the higher run scorer at the moment. She has been the Indian Cricket team captain for women as well in the past.

Till now, Taapsee has been seen in the serious roles. Now, she is expected to appear as Mithali onscreen. Parzania and Raees fame director Rahul Dholakia will be directing the movie. Viacom 18 has decided to produce this movie. On Mithali’s birthday, Taapsee has announced the movie officially while cutting the cake with the former Indian Cricket Captain for women.

Sharing the picture on the social media, Taapsee has written “Happy Birthday Captain @M_Raj03 On this Birthday, I don’t know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu P.S- I’m all prepared to learn THE ‘cover drive”

In the year 2019, Taapsee Pannu has seen success with the movie like Badla, Mission Mangal and Saand Ki Aankh. For Mithali, the year has been good also since she has done several records. Mithali has played about 203 matches and scored 6808 runs which are highest till date for any female cricketer. Mithali also holds the records of scoring most number of half centuries in women’s cricket.
