Another bonus illustration for Chased Through Dreams issue 1. Fun fact: when I exported the comic as PDF to upload to Mixam, I'd left the background sketch layer visible and had to export it all over again. Gave her a mask when I was drawing the fanart piece evoking the 50 Shades cover, I'm never reading it but one of the covers had a mask on it so I thought it would be cool. Was also considering drawing Arthur with a mask, maybe I'll do it as a bonus illustration at the very end of the comic so I can decorate it with things that would be spoilery
Chronologically this was the last bonus illustration I drew for Chased Through Dreams #1. You can probably tell this was when I found out there was a Mixam Black Friday sale so I wanted to get it done ASAP, still one of my favourites though.
I think he's generally not very violent (unless giving the threat of violence to make people notice him), however if someone commits crimes against art (eg: using AI, defacing art, stealing it (as in taking credit, he is fine with robbing frames pieces from art gallery)) then he will be merciless towards them and probably come up with elaborate artistic deathtraps.
Final piece for Aggressively Arospec Week! Now that this one's done I can spend more time working on my comic (and end the break of bird art).
Characters and orientations (right to left):
Elliot (And Another Lovely Day): Aroace, explicitly stated in canon.
The Penguin (Batman '66): Aroace. Asexuality is only based on colour scheme. Aromanticism is non-canon, but in an episode he'd rather go to prison than continue dating a woman he married just so he could steal the wedding gifts.
Nora (And Another Lovely Day): Aroace, explicitly stated in canon
Arthur Crimsonblood (Shadebringer) (My OC): Bi aroace kinkster. Shadebringer works as a diagetic franchise in Chased Through Dreams, the "original authors" probably will not have made him explicitly aro, but in the Shadowverse (based on the Arkhamverse) he is canonically a romance-repulsed aromantic (the word isn't used)
Echo Redwood (Chased Through Dreams) (My OC): Romance-repulsed aroace. Explicitly canon. Arthur Crimsonblood is their special interest, and the comic will explore being romance-repulsed (and sex-repulsed) in fandom.
The Riddler (Arkhamverse): Romance-repulsed aroallo kinkster. Aromanticism is strongly implied in Arkham Knight, in an audio tape in which he says Batman and Catwoman's romantic attachment disgusts him. Allosexuality is lightly implied in Arkham Origins, in which he has a sexy calendar in his lair. In the mainline DC comics he is bi.
Agnes Crumplebottom (The Sims): Romance-repulsed caedromantic. Caedromanticism/aromanticism is non-canon, however, if Sims are romantic in front of her, she hits them with her handbag, hence I think she should be an icon to the romance-repulsed community.
Sonic (Sonic the Hedgehog): Aroace. Not explicitly stated in canon, however has been stated by outside sources to not date people. Eg: Amy was made to be the Minnie to Sonic's Mickey, however they did not think it would be in Sonic's style to date her, so it is unrequited.
Bel (Bomb Rush Cyberfunk): Aromantic. Not explicitly stated in canon, but Tryce says, "Don't try anything. This girl's married to her phone" which implies aromanticism, and non romance-favourability.
Krobus (Stardew Valley): Unknown if the Shadow People experience romance. He is the character that you can become roommates with, instead of marriage with all the other bachelors.
I'm being so strong and disciplined by working on my comic when what my autism wants to do is churn out Shade fanart.
Left one was perfectly cropped so I freestyled him during the inking (discovered him between the sketch and inks), second one already had a top hat in the sketch, twas fate. These are in a background where Echo is dreaming they are in a comic shop
Another bonus illustration to put in Chased Through Dreams issue 1. Ignore the fact one of Arthur's horns is poking into the sheep; the wool is thick so it doesn't hurt.
Last bonus illustration for Chased Through Dreams #1. Put them in Victorian fashion because I love dapper outfits (and the Shade). Shadebringer's pose demanded he hold something, but I don't think he really thinks about being queer (ambiguously aroace in that everyone chalks it down to being stoic and dedicated to justice), so I ended up giving him a cool scythe.
Had a prototype comic issue arrive early this month, and was struck by how clear the smallest background details are (I'm used to them being tiny and pixellated on the screen) so I've tried to absorb that and draw more little details. I think I want to shift my mindset to drawing for print rather than social media. This drawing also made me realise how cool the Merganser (bottom left in the background) is, so I want to draw her and the Pheasant (to her right) more.
