#shading help

I love to draw. The process of drawing each step by step is really fun to me. I like tryna add detail in my rough and final line art. What kills the whole process for me is coloring it all. I finish the flats and that's as far as I can get. I don't know how to shade, cell shade, color theory or whatever. It really kills the whole thing for me and kills my motivation.

Can someone PLEASE teach me somehow, or atleast show me any guides or tutorials that helped you? I keep tryin' to teach myself but there's somethin' wrong with me cuz I can't get it right no matter how hard I try. Please help me out

Asaro heads are used to help artists understand the planes of the face/head as well how to understand shadows along the face.

Very handy resource and this one is an online version that you can turn in 3D space. This one only has 1 lightsource but once you understand how shadows fall along the face, you can pretty much figure it out from there.

Freebie design and reference photo credit to catad0x1cal on tiktok! They were doing practice requests and were generous enough to give the designs out to the requester! I'm not sure if theyre still doing it, but I absolutely love mine and I think yall will be seeing a lot more of him because he's actually so easy to draw and I need that rn.
