I feel like maybe. MAYBE. If Henry had approached the annulment as "I need a male heir and you're past childbearing age" MAYBE Catherine would've been a TINY BIT more willing. But the fact that he was all "we were never lawfully married, you lied to me the whole time, and our living daughter and dead babies are all bastards" just instantly set her against him, whether Anne had been in the picture or not. Anne's presence just added insult to injury. Good job, dipshit.
Yep, Henry approached it from pretty much the worst angle, I’m not sure if Catherine would have agreed because she believed she was chosen by God to Queen of England, not unlike other monarchs did, but yeah Henry was basically calling her a liar and humiliating her by saying she was lying about consummating her marriage to Arthur, she was never, ever going to give him what he wanted at the sake of her and her daughter’s reputations.
