Shadow Yu + Yosuke
Arenaaaaaaaa ARENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Broken Promise { w/ thejunesprince }
Not every shadow spawned a dungeon, some appeared in others, breaking off to torment the human who it had came from. The shadow, Yu, yes it was going to use his name, after all it was a part of him, had been unsteady at first. It had broken away like ripping a bandage off a still bleeding wound.
You broke your promise, you betrayed everybody, and for what? He was never your friend.
Why go right in for the kill when your former host was doing a good enough job of breaking themselves down as it was? He wasn't even speaking to the real Tohru Adachi, the shadow could tell and it knew the boy knew. What was he even hoping to achieve? Some sort of proof he hadn't made a huge mistake trusting the older man. But he had. They both knew it even if one wouldn't admit to that.
That's why. You couldn't handle your own damaged pride. You were too scared that this one betrayal had proven you right. Everybody was going to do it eventually, why not go there first? Why not break your promise, everybody breaks promises.
The shadow had a headache already. As if being suppressed hadn't been bad enough here it was with a head full of spiraling negative thoughts.
It could wait. It could wait until he was ready, he was upset enough as it was, emotionally weak, and if one of the others sensed it's presence they would have to go after it. As if they would stand back and let their leader run away from himself when they had all been forced to face themselves like it or not. It would probably be Rise, with her unwavering love for him. He hadn't even been brave enough to tell her the truth, tell her that he couldn't fall in love with her because she was a girl. No he had stood frozen wanting to hug her but not wanting to give her false hope or the wrong idea, too paralyzed by fear to tell the truth.
I'm gay. Such a small thing to say but so loaded he had just left them all to run away or cry because it was easier than telling them why they were being rejected. He liked to run away more than anybody really knew.
It had instead found the place that made it feel secure. The hospital on this side was a mess. It looked like the apocalypse had already hit. Upturned stretchers and broken machinery littered the hall ways, doors coming off their hinges, broken glass coating nearly everything. The floor crunched with it under foot. The lights flickered constantly.
You let Nanako die here. Sure she had come back but she had died and you had been alone all over again. Broken your promise to Dojima, let his baby girl get hurt. "She's all I have... She's the only one... in the world..." But didn't he have you too? Weren't you supposed to be a family? You guessed he just didn't care without her.
He had trusted you and you had let him down.
It was sitting on top of the reception desk in the lobby, usually shadows stayed at the furthest point, unless they wanted to be chased. It was going to let them chase him, let them struggle to save their precious leader before it spilled his every secret to them and let them wonder if they had ever really known him at all.
The foyer was dimly lit. The strip lights would probably die pretty soon if they carried on the way they were. The doors looked as though they had been wrenched open. Hanging crooked and cracked as if somebody had tried to rip them apart.

The place looked just the the shopping district of Inaba, except everything was ever so slightly off. It wasn't even because the place was completely empty, devoid of any life at all, everything looked old, abandoned, dirty and crooked. This wasn't the shopping district he remembered, instead it was warped and twisted into something far more sinister.
It had however seemed like the right place to go, find something familiar, even if it was all wrong. At least here he would never have to leave, not unless they caught up with him, he supposed. That's what they did with shadows, chased them down, fought them, turned them into Persona. His other didn't need another Persona, he had already taken on more than enough of those. Besides the little gang had bigger fish to fry, the culprit behind the murders was in here and he knew the other was torn up with a whole range of negative emotions about it that would be driving him to seek the man out and make him pay, not that he would ever admit to that, no it was all about justice, saving the day. The shadow let out a low chuckle about that, it was bullshit of course. He was mad as hell, furious and heartbroken and he wanted revenge.
He really should thank him for forcing those emotions down and refusing to believe they were there, it was after all those emotions that the shadow had been born from. How pathetic.
The shadow had decided that since the team wouldn't be bothering him any time soon he might as well make use of his time but had quickly gotten bored and taken to sitting atop the entrance of the shrine, because why not? If you couldn't be disrespectful in a ghost town where could you? Besides that it gave him a good vantage point to observe the waxing and waning edges of the district, occasionally things would flash in and out of focus, like it was being swallowed in the fog, like it was growing... Whatever that meant for him and for the real Inaba he could't say but honestly, he could not care less either.
