Shadow x Bunny Mobian Reader head cannons 🐰

When he first meets you he calls you bunny in the same vain he calls sonic “hedgehog” or “faker” once he finds himself in a relationship with you “bunny” becomes a term of endearment only spoken in soft moments of quiet affection

He was a little resistant at first toward your cuddly nature, after awhile he gets used to it, he even begins to crave it while he’s away on long missions

The first time you bunny flopped on him he was incredibly confused, he was worried you had passed out or hurt yourself

After you did it for the third time he decided to talk to ask Vanilla about it

Cream overheard the conversation giggling as he expressed his concerns “it means that they like you MR. Shadow” she innocently answered before Vanilla elaborated further

The next time you flopped on him he was sure to return the favor and cuddle you to your heart’s content grateful that you felt safe enough around him to display such a vulnerable action

He will call you cuddle bunny on days you’re feeling especially affectionate towards him

He will go to Vanilla on occasion to get advice and tips on bunny/rabbit culture

He finds it incredibly cute when your frustrated the way your nose twitches and your foot taps

He learned from Vanilla that touching a bunnie’s ears and/ or tail is a very big deal in rabbit culture only reserved for family members (for grooming purposes) or lovers

He’s very gentle with your ears petting them softly after you’ve had a bad day or playing with them when he’s trying to cheer you up

Much like you love his chest fluff Shadow LOVES your cotton tail he’ll play with it behind closed doors gingerly running his hands through the fluffy fur it drives you wild in all the best ways

Cuddle sessions often look like you laying on Shadows chest snuggling into or grooming his chest fluff while he plays with your tail

Okay… so, dating Shadow is nothing like you thought it would be.

🖤You always assumed someone like him would be intense all the time. Distant. Closed off. But with you? He’s patient. Almost painfully so. It caught you off guard at first. You weren’t used to someone waiting for you.

🖤You’re not good at being loved. You don’t say that for sympathy; it’s just the truth. You overthink everything. You apologize too much. You keep expecting him to get tired of you being quiet or insecure or slow to open up. But he never does. He just… stays.

🖤He notices things you don’t even realize you’re doing. When you go quiet because you’re overwhelmed. When you hesitate before holding his hand, like you’re asking for permission without saying it. He never calls it out or makes it awkward. He just adjusts. Lowers his voice. Moves a little closer so you don’t feel alone.

Why I HC Shadow as Physically Disabled:

As someone who is physically disabled, it made me notice quite a few signs of Shadow being disabled. I will provide as much evidence that I have found whilst trying to keep this brief.

Disability has *always* been a central point of Shadow's story through Maria and her own illness. When looking deeper I noticed that all the chaos energy in Shadow's body as well as the strain it puts on him tends to mirror Maria's NIDS and the stress, pain, and fatigue she goes through.

Shadow's body is in a constant battle with itself. The amount of chaos energy within him is too much for his body. Shadow has to wear his inhibitor rings to contain the chaos energy in his body as without them his power becomes too overwhelming, putting great strain on his body; leading to exhaustion, fatigue, and even loss of consciousness. These Inhibitor Rings were created to aid Shadow and prevent him from experiencing such fatigue and burnout.

Speaking of things created to aid Shadow, let's talk about his air shoes. In Sonic x Shadow Generations we get to take a peek into Professor Gerald Robotnik's Journal, and from that we learn Shadow's air shoes were in fact designed by Maria to aid his mobility due to the tremendous strain his body is under. His air shoes are LITERALLY a mobility aid, and it is quite telling that Maria was the one to design them as she would know first hand what its like to be disabled.

More evidence that shows his air shoes to be mobility aid comes from the Sonic IDW comics which are canon to the games. During the Metal Virus arc Shadow became infected and turned into a ‘Zombot’ while infected, Zom-Shadow was unable to use his air shoes and was noted by Sonic not to be able to move as well nor as fast as he is normally able to.

Whether intended or not I feel that Shadow is great representation due to how easily people can see themselves in Shadow. I love Shadow because of how much I can relate to him and that sentiment rings true for so many others. Shadow headcanons!

Hello! This is my first time writing these so bare with me, but I have collected some headcanons and would love to share with others who are in love with this little grumpy hedgehog 🤣

This can be platonic bit I've written it romantically, also this is Mobian reader x Shadow. Otherwise I find it strange. Anyways without further ado here they are. It's like 400 words

•I think Shadow would be pretty closterphobic when it comes to small spaces or narrow passages. (Ark flashbacks) Definitely would try to hide it but would show in his eyes how weary of it he really was.

•I feel Shadow would have a soft spot for young children, though he would pity their innocence, he would, almost appreciate that children are free from anxieties. Envying that.

•When you are sick he would go almost crazy tending to you every second of the day. Making sure you're drinking enough water, fed, lots of cuddles and assurance. His anxiety would spike, because of how it reminded him of how helpless he would feel with Maria being sick on the Ark.

•I feel like he wouldn't eat much, feeling it like it's a waste of time because he can naturally sustain himself. but when you cook? You bet he will be eating all of it. Because he loves your food >.<

•I think he would love to have someone stroking his quills, running your hands through them. He can definitely purr and it would be because of those pets.

•definitely stealing his sweatshirt. When he finds you wearing it he will grumble and complain that you're stealing it without asking, but deep down he would feel a sense if pride that you choose to. If you ever say you're cold he would definitely open his arms and say "come here"

•He definitely takes motorcycle rides to relax. Treats his motorcycle like his baby. After awhile of getting to know each other he would love driving you places. I feel like he would enjoy taking you out to a small bar, playing pool and maybe having a drink or two before riding home in the sunset. Though he always makes sure you are wearing a helmet leather jacket and pants for your safety.

•Avid Star gazer. You'd find him on his favorite roof spot with a blanket down looking up at the stars. I feel like it makes him feel connected to Maria even when she's gone.

•Also loves to sing when he's alone. One time you accidentally find him singing to himself as he watches the sunset on the roof. He would definitely be unbelievablely embarrassed that you caught him. Then when you'd compliment his beautiful voice he'd do it more often when you were together. Especially when you'd request him to. He also enjoys it when you sing to him too, sometimes much more then he let's on.

Shadow x reader *Shadow experiences cuteness aggression towards you

(A/N): I was reading some stories about the way shadow shows affection and I really started to think that he wouldn’t be much of an affectionate guy, but then I had an idea that he’d have an aggression towards the reader to show his love (NOT IN AN ABUSIVE WAY GUYS) Anyways this took really long because I’m between writing two fics rn and I didn’t know which one I wanted to do so..

Warnings: Clawing, Pinching, Physical affection, not proofread (Minor Author, DNI if uncomfortable)

When you first started dating Shadow he wasn’t all that affectionate, he’d hold your hand and give you small pecks every now and then, but other than that everything was pretty dry.

It wasn’t until you gave him a smile, he wasn’t sure why, but this one felt so much more different than the others you’d normally give him. Was it your cheeks? The little sparkle your eyes gave? Your lips? He just stared at you, trying to figure out why your smile touched his heart so suddenly.

“..Shadow? Is something wrong?..Is there something on my—..H—Hey! What the—?”

Then he began clawing you, basically kneading your face as if it were dough but in a more aggressive manner. His right thumb in the corner of your mouth, almost pulling it back. Shadows eyes had shown a fury in them, like he was determined to turn your face into mush.

“Shadow—! What are you doing?”

It wasn’t until you grabbing his wrist when he realized what he’d been doing. He wasn’t sure what had gone through his head, he just had the urge to grab you. You, being the sweetheart that you are, helped him through whatever.. that was

“Aww, Shadow, I didn’t know you had cuteness aggression towards me!”

“Excuse me?”

“Yknow, cuteness aggression. When you see something cute so you just wanna—destroy it!”

“What?! I don’t want to destroy you??”

Took a few minutes to get him to understand the foreign feeling to him. Thankfully he didn’t see himself as a monster because he felt like squeezing you until your head popped off because of how cute he found you.

He doesn’t hide his aggression at all. Every time you sneeze he immediately begins pinching your cheeks until they turn sore! If he’s not in the mood for grabbing he’d bite you, nothing too harsh, just little nibbles.

“Okay okay, Shadow!”

“Hang on, just a few more seconds”

You’ve had to use the safe word a couple of times <//3 aside from the ultimate life form pinching your cheeks until they ache for a couple of days, it is cute seeing his eyes turn so fierce because of something as simple as your cuteness, it does bother you sometimes though

“Shadow, are you sure you’re alright?“

“Yeah, why do you ask?”

“You look like you’re gonna kill someone with those eyes…”

Since Shadow isn’t really into PDA, he’d just pinch your wrist whenever he finds you doing something sweet. Thankfully it’s nothing too rough that’ll get a reaction from you, he’s self aware.
