YOOOOOOOOO Shadow House hadn't updated in forever, was starting to think maybe it was being canceled, but this new chapter?
SO GOOD
before i've been pissing about the whole "if they escape the story is over" issue that causes the "story can't leave the mansion" problem, that in turn kneecaps the amount of things the characters can do to keep the story interesting
but this chapter felt like a breath of fresh air! Shadows House has an amazing premise and amazing world building, but after a certain point was getting really fucking repetitive and aimless. Taking us out of the mansion and out onto the rest of the island to see how the humans under the Shadow's control are living is super fucking interesting!
And I've always thought that Edward was a really good and well written character/antagonist, so imagine how happily surprised i was seeing him thriving and being happy in this new role after getting demoted and sent out of the house!
You'd have thought he'd be seething and scheming like anime Sideshow Bob, but no
living his best life! respected by the community! Making big plans for the town people!

Shadows House role reversal where the shadows literally live in the shadow of the humans. The shadows speak for the humans and their soot emitted is to show different emotions. The humans don't speak to each other or express emotion due to their youth + vanity is extremely important. The shadows still have to clean their own soot and keep the idea of the soot monsters hidden from the humans :D
Edit: Adulthood means the shadows must become apart of the human and basically give up their life to give their human their powers.
Why does it look so weird to insert the shadows' face on their dolls when the doll isn't actually acting like their face lol.
