Sefris had been at the entrance to the Temple of Sarenrae the whole time--how did she not see them enter? Regardless, Sefris shook her head and smiled at the shorter one. The temple was open, always, no matter who anyone was... or how they got in, she supposed.

“Well, that doesn’t matter. Are you hurt? I can help you.”

damien hadn’t been sure what he walked in on- a mess, really. the sight of elymas with the staff raised like a bat with the smashed mirrors around was truly a sight to behold. he wasn’t even sure where to start with it, what to address. ( should he ask if they were okay? why they had an apparent issue with mirrors? damien had never been good at this sort of thing, something he still needed to work on since he had only been in the general public for a few years. )

damien took a deep breath before walking over and crouching down to elymas’s level. he gave them a concerned look and a reassuring smile- one he hoped was reassuring, anyway.

    HE HAD BEEN CHECKING THE MOUTH of the makeshift little den he had put together for the night, back turned away and completely unaware that someone was coming up from behind him. Now keep in mind that, though he is confident that he knows this land like the back of his hand, the boy was still incredibly easy to startle. 

     A dog-like YELP before he shifts into his wolf form on instinct, and ducks into the makeshift den with ferret-like ease. The voice was so soft that one could wonder why the child was so skittish. Well, that tends to happen when he’s fully invested in his own work.

    Unfortunately the boy cannot get a glimpse of the silhouette now standing at the mouth, it is obscured by the leafy cover that Silver strapped together in hopes of keeping out the rain, should it fall tonight. “ Uuuhhh?! H-how many minutes? I MEAN – yes, yes you can. “ He immediately felt an inclination to invite the stranger in. They sounded young, and he didn’t want to be rude. “ I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there… “ His canine form shook almost as noticeably as his voice did. “ Come on in. “

     Well, this was weird. This wasn’t the little dude he’d been helping out the past few days. No, this was someone else. Someone who clearly did not like the bugs that Elymas collected like fucking candy. The bard winced at the screaming. He had a hangover, this wasn’t cool. Whatever magic did this was a FUCKING ASSHOLE.

     “You wanna explain why you’re napping in another person’s bed? Cause, like, that’s just weird. Like, you don’t know what shit could be in there.”

Anxiety....... how do you make yourself seem less scary.... Like you are bad but you aren't.... /bad/. How do you do that? Elymas wants to know........

         The    rogue    squinted    for    a    second...     This    was    a   KID,   right?     This    had    to    be    a    kid.    Arms    crossed    over    his    chest    and    he    bent     on    one    knee,     hood    covering    tiefling    features.    He    knew    what    it    was    like    to    try    and    convince    people    that   he    wasn’t    horrifying    or    a    monster...      And    if    he    WAS    a    monster,    he    wouldn’t    be    a    bad    one.    But    it    was    useless.    Eventually,    he    just...           “Stop    trying.    It’s   useless.    If    people    are    gonna    like    you,    they    should    like    you    for    all    of    you.     Not    what    you    want    to    be.”

     Well, the little thing seemed to be as secretive as him. At least Evelyn knew better than to ask him for his secrets. Though, now at least she knew that feelings and him had a weird relationship. He bent down to it’s level and raised an eyebrow. “What they look like?” Simon, his robotic son, was glaring at the other and clinging to Paultin’s hand just a little bit tighter in jealously.

    Since jumping into the Shadowfell world he’d seen a lot of dead shit. After all, it seemed to be a running theme here. The ring didn’t seem to complain about it. Then again, it was very pro-PARTY MURDER so there’s that. He noticed a small thing watching him and a thumb moved to rub the ring subconsciously as he eyed it. “Can I help you?” It reminded him of Strix but with less screaming and fire.
