He would! That’s what I’ve been thinking, at least!
Like he becomes online friends with the other three and after almost a year of getting to know them, he feel comfortable enough to let them see his face and they’re just like “omg wtheck he’s adorable?? Protect him??”
And then they convince him to go to conventions with them, so he makes sure to walk around in his “Anxiety” persona with his face all hidden and dark, and it can get pretty warm in that jacket and covering his mouth and nose, but it’s worth it to feel comfortable enough to see his fans because they’re asking for hugs and pictures and some are crying about meeting him, so he decides he likes seeing them and interacting with them
And after a long while, he’s become a lot more confident. He’s not as scared about his real name or face being on the internet (it still terrifies him, but not as much). At this point, even Logan has done a name reveal. In fact, they’ve ended up all moving together and Patton has so often had to blur out his face after accidentally capturing him in vlogs.
So he decides “screw it” and tells Patton not to bleep out his name or put that black rectangle over his face in vlogs anymore and the next time Patton uploads a vlog, the internet explodes
Virgil does a little introductory video of himself, without the scary makeup or disguise or dark voice (though his voice is still naturally pretty deep) and everyone just loves him even more because they KNEW he was just a soft bean behind all that angst.
He still puts on the costume and persona for his videos, but now there’s a bi-monthly q&a video where he doesn’t and his fans love it. You thought he was popular before? He explodes after this. Which makes him really nervous, but hey, he can handle it with his friends there to help.
