It just came to my mind that the mortals ride mounts that are definitely NOT welcome under normal circumstances. Not to speak of the mounts of the other covenants but the maw beasts.
There might have been quite a few accidental friendly fires when a gladiator approached with their winged soul eater or a maw walker in sanctum armor on their shade hound / maw charger.
And a lot of covenant members wanting to murder their mortals for constantly asking them if they "need a hand" while sitting on their hand mounts with a shit-eating grin.
