Lygophobia (one)

Creeping, crawling, slinking in To gnaw your bones and steal your skin.

Hear them scuttle 'neath your bed Through your dreams and in your head.

Round and round on little feet Drinking tears and craving meat.

Say your prayers and say them fast The light of day, it never lasts.

Children hide yourselves, and well! Keep this secret; never tell! They've started tapping on their bells And opened up the deep, dark well. That's in the woods beneath the trees.. Beyond the singing of the bees. Get down now love, on your knees And pray for what shall never be.

She hid herself beneath the sheets, Covered head, covered feet.

Her father knocked upon her door- A raven screamed out, "Nevermore!"

He led her out back, to the shed And there she saw her mother dead.

All around the shadows danced. On little feet the Fair Ones pranced.

Daughter hide yourself, and well! Hear my words, take heed the tale. They've started tapping on their bells And opened up the mouth of hell. Out in the woods, beneath the trees She felt the stinging of the bees. And fell down trembling on the leaves And softly cried herself to sleep.
