Work. Important work. Very important work. That was what Spike did. Spike protected people. Those people who couldn’t protect themselves. She’d gone to schools, become a part of local and international groups that fought for the rights of her people, of mutants. But she’d been smart about it. Spike had become involved in not only the physical and societal aspects of the movement but the legal ones as well. With a degree in international law, she had dreams bigger then anyone could ever imagine.
However, that meant nothing when she hadn’t seen the person who had inspired everything she had done up to this point for years. Shadow. Her childhood friend. The one who she'd spent most of her youth with and yet was torn away from due to the pure evil of those who didn’t care to understand their kind. Had that not happened..who really knows where the two of them would have ended up.
Those were the things that refilled her mind after all those years as golden orbs flickered from the address on her phone to the small shop before here. This was it. It took a little digging and she prayed to whatever gods were up above that what Spike was looking for was just within the door.
With another small inhale she pulled open the front door, senses instantly hit with the delicate scent of fresh flowers. However, she stood frozen as the employee turned to greet her.
“Hi...” was all she could muster the courage to say.
