the general idea of improving, makes me want to do be a better artist, what inspires me, is others art, films i enjoy, and photography. i guess also inspiring others makes me want to be a better artist

Need someone who is latinx's opinion on this: how do u feel about ppl headcanoning latinx characters as being obsessed with the chancla /gasolina /dirty pick up lines in Spanish. I always see it and it kind of me irks me but im not Latino so Idk....

It’s actually something I hate, and its so prevalent in the overwatch fandom / any fandom w a prominent latinx character its disappointing n shitty as fuck.

First of all, these all primarily came from latinx bloggers these jokes, bc we finally found a character we could relate to / have representation with. And its nice to have these inside jokes, and things to share from our culture, popular or not. But such things like “la chancla”, gasolina, speaking spanish, speaking spanish badly, etc. Are taken out of context by white people and treated like actual jokes, when really theyre based on our experiences, on things we enjoy and love, things that make us proud to be latinx, etc. And white people fucking trash them. It’s fucking rude and tiresome.

Like now theyre just stereotypical jokes, white people and even non latinx ppl, diminish latinx characters to those shitty few racist tropes, and fucking play us like a fucking joke. and expect us to think its cool. its not, its racist, white people who do that shit are racist. case closed.

and i appreciate that youre irked by it, youre not seeing us (latinx ppl) and latinx characters as jokes ! thats great, and its just a good thing to not reblog those comics. I only reblog them, when i know theyre made by latinx ppl, and latinx ppl who make them are much more authentic with their headcanons, and art/comics. support latinx creators and our endeavor to fight shitty racist people who treat us and our representation like jokes !!!
