Somehow, despite Shaialis quickly outranking every other member of her family, her grandmother still tries to control things. After facing down the dark council, Shaialis has to return to Dromund Kaas and the estate in the Sith district to handle a more intimidating challenge, facing down her mother and grandmother to claim her place as head of the family.

How is facing them scarier then facing the Dark Council? It just is! They were abusive to her as a child and their training while clearly effective in some ways was not worth the work she had to put in to undo the things they did that held her back.

Her grandmother tries to hold her position. She’s still alive, she’s the oldest member. She’s been in charge for years and it’s only because of her that they’re still relevant.

Shaialis counters that it’s because of her. She is the highest ranked Sith the family has had in 800 years. She stands equal to the council. She answers only to the Emperor. The family will continue their status at her will. And the family is now hers to control whether they like it or not. Most of them go along with Shaialis. Legally she’s not wrong.
