OMG! Looky who's famous! Thanks so much @rogueandpeasant! #Repost @rogueandpeasant with @repostapp ・・・ Today on Shakespeareans Among Us we sit down with Sarah Eismann, at #Shakescon Artistic Director of Manhattan Shakespeare Project - Manhattan's All-Female Shakespeare Company to discuss introverted actors: "I am an introvert and an extremely private personal person and it is very difficult for me to get up in front of an audience and to expose myself in the way that you have to, to be able to tell the stories of other people. So my biggest challenge, is being able to find the vulnerability and find the place where I genuinely and empathetically tell the stories of these characters. So my definition of being an introvert versus being an extrovert is where you find your energy. So, as an introvert I get my energy from solitude, from going inside myself, from being alone, being able to recoup my energy. Extroverts find their energy by being with other people, so while they're by themselves they go stir crazy and they feel their energy being sapped so they need to hang out with people, they need to be in front of audiences, and that's where they find their energy. So for me being with people and being with crowds and being in front of an audience is a nightmare! AND YET—I find the only place where I can truly be 100 percent the human being that I feel inside is when I am on stage telling other people's stories."
