This was an assignmemt for English class. A poem summarizing King Lear
Unfinished.
I hope when they lay the roses on my coffin
That thorns prick their fingers,
And Remind them of their sin,
They’ll say “She should have died hereafter.”
But as of yet I am unfinished.
I’ll be here tomorrow
And tomorrow and tomorrow
Dragging out this petty pace from place to place
Class to class till I’m
Face to face
Pen to paper
With my future
Don’t know who I am
But as of yet I am unfinished.
“It looks good on your CV”
But they don’t say what CV stands for
Just that it’s another measure of my worth
On this meaningless earth
With these people
Who’ll all burn with me for humanity’s sins
But as of yet I am unfinished.
While the politicians watch
We will die on their behalf
“For our country”
For your pleasure
Our blood stains your adversaries
As you take and take and take from us
With no shame or regrets
Just unadulterated greed
But as of yet I am unfinished.
My words mean nothing if they’re not written
Under exam conditions
Blue or black ink
Bleeds through the page
Bleeds through the table
Through my fingers
Till they break from all the shit I have to carry
In this life from day to day
You could call it a petty pace
But who’s pacing
Nowadays
When nothing is real
Nothing is real
But you’re still breathing.
Unfinished.
And if one thing in this world remains
After the stars have fallen
the gods are dead
the earth is scorched beyond repair
Not by the hand of hell but by the hand of man
It will be you.
Yet unfinished.

Ophelia
Poor Ophelia,
bound from one lord to the next.
Poor Ophelia,
a vision in red,
blurred by deceit and murder.
Poor, poor Ophelia,
without the prince you are
but a servant.
Poor Ophelia,
whose love was wasted on a boy
Gone made with hate and revenge.
Poor Ophelia,
who’s plan to thought out the king,
was no more than a trick of the hat.
Poor Ophelia,
Who’s gone mad as death takes another home.
Poor Ophelia,
who drowned without knowing true love.
Poor, poor, Ophelia,
I now know what it feels like to be a ghost.
Alas, poor Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, I knew them well... 💀📖🎭 . . . #tattooart #newtattoo #tattoo #fridaythe13thtattoo #blackink #lineworktattoo #book #pages #skull #skulls #skulltattoo #booktattoo #literature #literaturetattoo #bookworm #shakespeare #shakespeareink #shakespeareinspired #girlswithtattoos #ink #inkedgirls #armtattoo
| Talking Dots by Hanna Bischof (Central Saint Martins) - Emotional Mapping |
Shakespeare is renowned for his understanding of the range and depth of human emotions. Like no other of his guild he thematises love, hate, desire, revenge and many other basic feelings, revealing the gloomy sides of the human race in a meticulous way.
This installation should give an insight into the emotional dramaturgy of three of his tragedies – Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet and King Lear. The plays are colour-coded in terms of positive, negative or neutral feelings of the respective characters, represented by 60,000 coloured dots. At one glance the emotional course of those stories can be felt. The aim of the project is to catch the observer’s attention by involving him into an intimate dialogue on a deep emotional level.
Night's Visage
The flaming crest of the sun bows its head
And mortals close their eyes as dark comes down.
While the heavens wake the stars from their bed,
The sky slips into her ebony gown.
The moon climbs to its nocturnal vigil,
And makes the earth sweet with its silver glow.
The worries of the world are turned fickle
In the face of night’s celestial show.
Alas! As wondrous as midnight might be,
Sometimes evil will scheme under its cloak.
It is the witching hour some would agree,
For distrust the dark does seem to evoke.
But, in sum, night’s visage is pure, sublime.
It is free of all mortal vice or crime.
