Yesterday, I shared the first episode of Pinpoints featuring Jill Knapp, a very talented singer and half of Hot Breakfast, Delaware's premiere acoustic dork-rock act. I've been looking to share the cool things people featured in Pinpoints do outside of the video interviews, and I couldn't be prouder to share this event as the first post. (Important note: The Dead Milkmen are a great band from Philly. You may remember them from "Punk Rock Girl.") I'll let Jill explain:
"Hey Jill! What's Hot Breakfast got going on this weekend? Anything exciting?"
"Welp, The Dead Milkmen asked me and Matt to collaborate with them on their new song. We'll be in the studio both Saturday and Sunday, and the whole recording process will be live-streamed, which means that you can watch the recording session LIVE via YouTube, and you can even interact and ask questions! This is a Weathervane Music Organization production (Eeeeeee!!) and part of Weathervane's magnificent Shaking Through series. In true #ShakingThrough fashion, the song's tracks will eventually be made available for download so you can remix it, too! So... um... yeah, just a typical weekend for Delaware's premier acoustic dork-rock power duo. Ain't no thang."
(Let me translate this: HOLY CRAP SOME OF MY BIGGEST MUSICAL HEROES HAVE ASKED ME TO COLLABORATE WITH THEM. They gave me lyrics and chord changes for this one section, so I wrote the melody and arranged a buncha harmonies, and now I'm gonna record it with them at this gorgeous studio in Philly. Matt is gonna be playing acoustic guitar, too. I can die happy. Holy Sweet Elvis, I love my life.)
