Never thought I’d have something in common with ASAP Rocky but we both drive scared
Anyhow you know how in the Where We Are dvd Caroline Watson was like Niall goes through phases, where he'll only wear one thing, and then he'll see the boys wearing something he likes, and he's like ooh now i want to wear just that! And i feel like maybe niall thinks about clothing as a way to be close to other people or a way to have them close and reassure you. Like either by wearing someone else's actual clothing, or by taking some sort of fashion or aesthetic cue from them. and so like with this life ruining image of zayn in the glasses fucking me up today, and ziall being so ALIVE, do you think niall is reassured by seeing zayn wear something similar to him? like there's still a connection, still influencing each other? and like when zayn & harry wear the same designers in close proximity time-wise, does he think maybe zayn is still part of them after all? and also like wearing certain things to an obsessive degree almost, or like making it part of whoever you are at that moment, is a kind of armor, and sometimes that armor is about just wearing what makes you feel happy like the hat like the glasses i imagine, and sometimes it's wearing things that feel like protection from the people you associate with those items, with that fabric with that pattern with that slouch. it's about disguising yourself into someone strong or into the people who make you feel safe
