dumb original things
hm hm can't stop thinking about this. i want to draw more shalite related things and little written vignettes to go along but it's not much of a developed story. i have a general plot and lots of major points but between those is a black void.
basically this girl shalite is naruto with a demon sealed in her and it gives her all this WEIRD MAGIC POWER SHIT and is informed that she can revive the dying mage bloodline by drowning in a fabled spring so that the demon attached to her body would be released and open the gates to the magic source. on the way to the spring though she starts to have dreams that are somewhat disturbing in the sense that they're vivid and relate to what she is presently doing because they're basically memories "triggered" by scenery and events around her that were similar to previous familiars of the demon. she discovers that she isn't the first to try to revive the spring and that her mother had failed to do so before her which kind of creeps her out a bit because sometimes she can't tell what's a dream and what isn't because people she knows bleed into the memories.
there's also this guy who is trying to use her for his own ends to exclusively hold rights to the spring and woop surprise he's actually her father who had almost been killed protecting her mother from mountain bandits on their journey to the spring and felt that he deserved the power for almost dying attaining it. when they finally reach the spring the father kills shalite's escort, korba, but he is in return slain by korba's familiar zephyr who promptly dies because korba was no longer a valid familiar. shalite decides somewhat rashly to bring korba's body into the spring with her when she drowned because the released demon might be able to revive him somehow; she drowns, but the demon revives both of them at the cost of the open gate. they return from the spring, korba frustrated and broken, and shalite baffled but very strangely grateful to be alive.
