my love for this game has been re-ignited thanks to the State of Play announcing an update to DOA6 with DOA6 Last Round (god it's been so long since they last updated it), so here is some older gameplay footage of DOA6 from last year.

This is specifically the Time Attack mode on the Champ difficulty setting.

Yeah I main Marie, she's actually fun to play because she's just that easy to learn. Of course I trip up many times in fighting Rachel but there are some bright spots where you can see me become really precise in my counter holds.

once again, doa always finds a way to pleasantly surprise me as i did not know Honoka could do a ground power slam.

i would usually use these recordings for my amvs, but honestly it doesn't hurt to share my silly little gameplay of this game.

if you can tell I have gotten… a lot better at understanding Hayate’s toolkit of moves :3

One of my favourite things about the Dead or Alive games, is that sometimes you come across a move you have never seen before or noticed before (as its only available in context heavy situations) until you accidentally try it, and that gives me great joy.

In this case I found out if you use Hayate's Hayate-Gakke move while your opponent has your back to you, you can actually chain the move to end with a throw, which does Hayate's mid punch-hold counter animation but from behind. This is not on his move list anywhere, it's just. a thing I found out that exists.

occurred to me i haven't done much kasumi gameplay, and i think i'm okay at playing as her (her special moves, hoshinpo are hard to consistently execute, because they're moves that required another input right after your attack makes contact with the opponent.)

oh yeah this was on DOA6's master difficulty in arcade mode iirc. if you see me getting better at this game, lol no you don't i still suck at it <3

after watching Napoleon Blownapart's new video, all i can say is that he's right, FUCK bayman actually. God I hate grapplers that can continue their combo throws while you’re on the ground </3 (shallow's just angry that she sucks at escaping throw combos)

Rare Master Difficulty Arcade Mode run in DOA6 with the silly purple murder blorbo. Oh god this difficulty isn’t lying being made for masters…
