My first art for round 12 of the @shamelessbigbang! I'm not even exaggerating, this is the best fandom event that I have ever done and I'm so happy to get to know all you amazing writers and artists. This art is for the amazing writers Jenn @batty4steddie and Kendra @real-tentacool and their fic Never Been Knotted

Not to be a tease, but here's a quick excerpt of one of my favorite moments in the fic:

Ian shook his head in disbelief, furrowing his brow at Mickey’s words. “I wasn’t even looking for you.” That was true. Ian wasn’t looking for a mate. Mickey was assuming shit. “You think if I wanted a mate, I would already fuckin’ have one? You have no fucking idea… You… you’re not a choice, Mickey. I didn’t fucking choose you.”  You’re my soulmate, idiot!

Question about betas

I've never used a beta for writing. I don't generally write long stories. But even in my shorter stories I sometimes go back to reread and find some mistakes my spell checker missed or auto-complete shenanigans and I correct them but it annoys me that I didn't see it in the first place. I do this with gifs/art, too. Sometimes I'll notice a gif text is whacky after i hit the post button and I get so annoyed with myself for not having more patience and looking it all over before posting.

But if I'm completely honest, I'm a control freak. I'm not sure if I want someone who doesn't necessarily know my writing style making suggestions to change a huge amount of the story like an editor would. As much as I want to take it in the constructive way it's intended, this childish part of me might end up feeling even more self-conscious than I already am about writing.

I've signed up for the @shamelessbigbang and I'm writing this massive fic. Does anyone have a beta experience they want to share- positive or negative- to give me a better understanding of how that relationship works? Do you decide the level of their involvement?

What happens when their two worlds collide and the two men find themselves falling heart first? What if they both met the right person at the wrong time…can they have a happily ever after?
