Week 2, day 1 Yoga for a half an hour and foam rolling for about 10 minutes while watching blindside. Not a bad Sunday ;)
Week 1 Only ran 8 miles this week. First week of training. Migraine Monday and catching a cold from my students Wednesday through Friday messed me up. Feeling better today though! Good 6 miler--longest run since my last race almost two months ago. Felt really good though. A little pain in my left knee and hip, but my left hamstring has been really tight, so had to stop about 4.5 miles in and stretch it out--which I hate doing! Just finished my post run lunch of a coconut Chobani yogurt with a banana and chocolate chips. Delish--highly recommend. Lots of protein and potassium. Time to roll out and stretch :) (and probably nap)
Jut signed up for my next race!!!! It's my goal to be better at blogging about my training :)
First long training run
Yesterday was my first long run in the training for my next half. 5 miles at 10:26/mi. A little bit slower than I need to make my goal of finishing in under 2 hours, but not bad for the first long run. Felt good during most of the run. I definitely didn't eat or drink enough water before though. After I finished I didn't get hungry, which is a bad sign. On top of that, I didn't force myself to eat. An hour later I thought I was going to pass out. A massive plate of lasagna did the trick!
