Unpopular Opinion?

I'm thus far unimpressed with season 5. Last night's episode was, I think, pretty bland - aside from Sharon's pretty hair, and the badass way in which she stormed the guy's apartment. And I find it HILARIOUS that an entire hour was devoted to Julio's personal life when Duff can't even string together a couple minutes straight of Sharon's. Even last week's Skin Deep - the supposedly "Shandy-centric" episode, didn't sit well with me. The relationship has been so thoroughly ignored onscreen, IMHO, that their "intimacy" - the touching and cheek kissing and the very idea of Sharon and Andy wanting to move in together - felt awkward and forced. It seemed so out of the blue when we've not seen anything leading up to it. I didn't buy it. As a Shandy shipper, I continue to be disappointed that the relationship seems to be an afterthought. As a fan of the show in general, I miss the smart writing, the complex storytelling, the grittiness, and intense action of The Closer. And don't even get me started on the attention being given Rusty, who I feel at this point is superfluous. (Even last night - an episode in which he didn't figure prominently - Rusty had the last word with Cynthia about Julio's fitness as a father, and his little speech was made to look like it carried more weight than anything she'd learned from anyone else) I read the gushing reviews and comments every week, and just don't feel the same level of excitement anymore. I guess I worry that if *my* interest in Major Crimes is waning, might casual fans give up on it altogether? And then where will we be? IDK, maybe I'm alone on this island.
