[Daily Faceoff] Shane Lachance talks about good friend and former teammate Macklin Celebrini staying in his room when he and Lane Hutson visited BU during the break
Wait, i have to ask since i apparently have missed this information
which old teammates from bu came and supported mack? And do you remember what game it was?
oh i meant they flew to vegas to support him as in the draft! most notably jack harvey (mack’s linemate, also friends from when they played at steel together), max lacroix (goalie because of course), and shane lachance (they were linemates for the last third of the season, super good friends, still snapchat all the time, macklin actually stayed in shane’s room for three days when he visited bu during the break last season, and he said he and shane used to always watch nhl games together late at night and were huge fans of toff’s cellys to the point where shane started doing cellys like toff and it was one of the first things mack said to toff when he started playing with him).
i know people tend to use lane as mack’s default college bff in fics because he’s understandably the most well-known (and they’re both hilariously hockey freaks who basically need to be locked out of the rink to take a day off practice), but mack has always said he was closest with the other freshmen and they were the ones he spent the most time with. those were his boys
12/04/2025 - BU Terriers vs WMU Broncos
Captain Shane Lachance comforts teammate & fellow Devils prospect Mikhail Yegorov in the wake of their loss to the Broncos in the 2025 Frozen Four Championship match.
Moving to a new city to play for an entirely new team while beginning studies at a high-level university levies obvious challenges. But Yegorov gives all the credit to his teammates. In his first team dinner, Yegorov didn’t know anyone. Then, co-captain Shane Lachance asked the new guy to sit next to him at the table. “They treat me as I was part of their team for four years,” Yegorov said. “I was a little surprised with that, because I’m like weird Russian just came here and but now they treat me like I’m actually their good friend.” [...] “Goaltending is all about love,” Yegorov said. “It’s just one word that kind of gets everything together.”
