I expect "deer in headlights moment" from Cary before they realize that they're actually in charge now and omg there's now a baby Night Haunter on a NL ship

I recently went on a quest to figure out who tf Shang was, and I do love him v much, and I was wondering if I could rq some doodles w him being absolutely done/messed w by Sev and Rushal. V "let's annoy the Equerry" hours

How would a typical interaction between Carry and Shang go? I’m curious about their dynamic

So like, Cary and Shang.

Their dynamic is one focused on Night Haunter, because they have to be. Shang is the Equerry Primary because Cary is wary of the optics of them being Equerry Primary. The Primarch’s own First Nostraman Night Lord? That looks like favouritism rather than reaching such a position on merit, and it’s about making NH look like a guy who cares about that sort of thing.

Shang writes the battle reports, Cary edits them and files them. They split duties with handling communications with other legions, with Cary taking the ones who need a more diplomatic approach, and Shang taking the ones who don’t seem to mind the Night Lords’ methods.

I’m kinda annoyed at myself that I wrote a lot of the first act of Caryfic before reading the bits with him in it. They were friendly coworkers but I wouldn’t say they were really like. Friends. I don’t think Cary let their guard down enough and I don’t think Shang cared to try and get past it. They were both absurdly loyal to NH and much of their interactions were focused around him. Managing him. Hiding his madness. Cleaning up the messes.

They worked well together, and Cary was upset to hear of his death at the hands of an Utter Shit.

Does Night Haunter ever learn hoe to properlly apply the tboy gel or does he just continue to eat it?

Shang has to take it off him and apply it properly, such are the duties of an Equerry
