FJORDS may seem bizarre at first, but it pales in comparison to the extreme strangeness of the rest of the titles from the SHARECART1000 lineup. Next on the list of notable SHARECART1000 titles, we have ap drive, a game so absolutely outlandish that it is nearly impossible to understand, much less explain. Essentially, you control a little blue character that is being chased around by a little brown creature on a pixelated, tile-based 2D plane that has been distorted to look like an old computer screen. However, the plane is completely empty until you press a certain key. As you hold that key (I believe it’s space, not certain) each tile changes over and over, and the type of tiles that can appear on the plane changes, effectively changing the “biome” of the entire environment over and over, each new environment flashing for only a fraction of a second, before the flashing ceases and the environment settles on a layout. This same flashing happens whenever your character touches one of several light blue spikes placed randomly throughout the map. It’s a mesmerizing and completely baffling mechanic that honestly has to be seen multiple times to be truly understand. And this explanation doesn’t entirely typify this effect, as typifying what this effect really looks like is quite the task. Make no mistake: when you play this game for the first time, you will be completely dumbfounded (this explanation itself may have even left you scratching your head). You will have to play through this game until the brown creature inevitably kills you several times before you begin to make any sense of what’s happening. But once you finally begin to comprehend what you’re seeing, you’ll be able to appreciate the beauty of this game in its peculiarity.
