Shared Tides
I. @jasmimnocturna
I follow your silhouette
as it crosses that third shore,
where the blue of the sky kisses the sea
Your blurred outline—
a silent farewell,
our memory set adrift.
Your coldness, as blue
as the ocean’s depth,
consumes my thoughts—
the wrath of waves, the siren’s mystique.
Still, I search for your reflection in the sand.
I desired your desire,
I drowned in your charm.
All love dissolved into a single cry—
a breath of sea air,
the echo of your name,
The end of our story
swelling through the sails
Yet the compass needle
remains the magnet
that draws you back to me.
I gather the ocean
within myself,
distilling it into drops
to quench your thirst—
an antidote
to your detachment.
For I bind you
to the memory of me.
As the salt of our memory,
born in tears
Overflowing the sea,
rising as vapor, condensing
into the rain that will bathe you
Withering our seeds.
II. @traveledlight
And a memory
you will hold—
I have sailed
through oceans of you,
yet never touched
the water’s edge.
I have known thirst,
and every drop
reminds me
of the moments we can’t reach,
salt on our lips
from echoes
we carry alone.
Every memory I give
is a tether,
pulling me closer
even when miles
keep us apart.
I have learned
to breathe in your absence,
to drown willingly
in the tide of your memory,
anchored in what we were
and what lingers still.
The only antidote
is the way
we hold each other
in the folds of time,
every thought,
every sigh,
until distance fades
and we exist
only in these shared drops.
