Announcing our new Advisor : Y Combinator
Sharedpro is proud to announce their new Advisor from YC Alumni.
Sharedpro is one of the few originally accepted companies for Y Combinator’s Startup school Advisory track program, which means we will be assigned a YC Alumni as an advisor/mentor who will remain directly in touch with our company to guide us to scale our company to greater heights. The YC Alumni is an elite group of over 1900 Companies such as Dropbox, Airbnb, Quora etc.
There were more than 15000 Companies who applied for this year’s Advisory track of which some 3700 companies were selected however due to a software glitch some say a boolean error, 3700 companies who were originally accepted including us received a buggy rejection email while the rest of the 12000 companies received a buggy acceptance email at first. As soon as the YC people came to know about this goof up, it was corrected resulting to the originally accepted companies receiving a correct acceptance mail while the other 12000 companies receiving a rejection mail.
3700 companies had a sigh of relief while the other rejected companies had a tough time to accept this goof up resulting to an emotional turmoil by many originally rejected companies which was quite understandable. YC was quick to own their mistake by letting in even the rejected companies however without any advisor hence for a normal track. So finally we have two tracks for the first time this year, An advisory track with some 3700 Companies each equipped with a dedicated YC Alumni advisor and the normal track with 12000 Companies without any dedicated advisor from YC.
For Sharedpro, this was an important milestone, however, we have many more milestones to achieve in our journey of empowering companies with skilled employees while ensuring higher productivity and on the other side imparting meaningful real-life knowledge for the future workforce.
We’re excited to be a part of this journey of reshaping the current employee-employer relationship and even more excited to have advisors like a Y Combinator Alumni to be a part of this journey.
