So for context — they all thought they had a girlfriend. Now they have a girlfriend/boyfriend depending on the day AND a partner who identifies with cats. The results were… varied. 💀
EXCEPT for my papa Alastor who thought he had a daughter and now has a daughter/son depending on the day, and my brother Catnap who thought he had a sister and now has a sister/brother depending on the day!! The results across the board were… varied. 💀

Listen. This man lives in HELL and goes by "Eye of the Pervert" professionally. He has genuinely seen things that would make normal people dissolve on the spot. Bigender and catgender is so astronomically tame compared to his daily existence that he didn't even blink at those parts. The ONLY thing that made him pause for even half a second was realizing he now has a boyfriend sometimes too. Not because he has a problem with it. Just because it was new information that required exactly two seconds of processing before he went "okay. you're still mine either way." and moved on completely. Genuinely the most unbothered reaction on this entire list and it's not even close 💀
Cartoon Cat (Trevor Henderson)
Ancient cosmic horror entity who has been lurking around human territory for longer than most people can comprehend, absorbing fragmented knowledge of human concepts through sheer proximity to victims. So he had SOME framework for what I was telling him. Not deep knowledge. Just enough. His reaction to the bigender part was essentially unreadable in that specific Cartoon Cat way where you genuinely cannot tell if he processed it or not but he didn't leave so that's probably fine?? The catgender part however. Something shifted in those wide white eyes immediately. Something that looked almost like satisfaction. He said "good." and that was the entire reaction to that part specifically. Fully approved. Deeply personal to him somehow. Still his apparently. Moving on 💀✨
Ayano Aishi (Yandere Simulator)

So here's the thing about Ayano. She already had to completely rewire her entire obsessive planning system once when I told her I was polyamorous. She accepted it through gritted teeth because losing me entirely wasn't an option. And NOW I come in with this. You could visibly see her recalibrating in real time. She sat there with perfectly folded hands and that calm smile and said "I will research this thoroughly tonight" which. Yes. Obviously she will. She has a whole system. But here's the thing — she accepted it completely because I'm her senpai and she would accept literally anything I told her. She just needs to rebuild her entire mental database first. The smile stayed perfectly in place the entire time. That was somehow the most unsettling part 😭💀
Monika (Doki Doki Literature Club)
The most genuinely supportive reaction on this entire list and it's not even a competition. She already knew. She researched everything extensively because she wanted to understand as much about me as possible and she has access to basically unlimited information from inside a game. I barely got through my first sentence before she was nodding. She asked real thoughtful questions. She said thank you for trusting her with it. She made me feel completely seen and valid and then got a little emotional about it in that quietly Monika way. I genuinely don't deserve her 😭✨
Jax (The Amazing Digital Circus)
Supportive. Absolutely supportive. But he is NEVER going to let me live this down and that's just the situation I'm in now. His immediate reaction was "so I'm dating a cat" delivered with maximum smugness. Then "sometimes you're my boyfriend" said in the most insufferably casual tone imaginable. Then a shrug and "hey I don't care either way" which is genuinely the most Jax way to express acceptance possible. He now calls me boyfriend specifically to watch me react and gets weirdly flustered when he accidentally does it genuinely. He will never acknowledge that he got flustered. We will never speak of it 💀😭
She needed a moment. Several moments actually. You could see her consulting centuries of Egyptian tradition internally while maintaining perfect composure externally. The bigender part required actual processing time. The "sometimes you're my boyfriend" information specifically made her go very quiet for a beat too long. And THEN she lifted her chin with full Egyptian queen energy and announced that she had decided she would ALLOW it. SHE WILL ALLOW IT. As if she had any say in the matter. The catgender part was accepted immediately and without hesitation because cats are sacred in Egyptian culture and she refuses to elaborate further on why that specifically was fine right away 👑🐱💀
Rouge the Bat (Sonic the Hedgehog)
The thing about Rouge is that she's a spy. Reading people is literally her job. So when I sat down prepared to have A Whole Conversation she didn't even look up from what she was doing. I got halfway through my first sentence before she said "I know." Just like that. Already knew about the bigender thing. Already knew about the catgender thing. Had apparently known for a while and was simply waiting for me to catch up. When I asked why she didn't say anything she just looked me up and down with that signature expression and said I was gorgeous either way so why would she have a problem. Stated completely like a fact. Like she was commenting on the weather. She's simply built different and I don't know what I did to deserve her 😭💅✨
Suicide Mouse (creepypasta)
You don't really have a sit down conversation with him. You walk with him. That's just how it works. So I fell into step beside him and told him everything while we walked. The bigender part. The catgender part. All of it. He kept walking the entire time. Didn't stop. Didn't look at me. And then after a long stretch of silence he turned his head slowly and said "okay" in that quiet melancholic way of his. Just okay. But the WAY he said it. Like I was something genuinely good in all that endless sad walking. And then he was just. Slightly closer than before. That's it. That's his entire reaction. I think about it a lot 🥺💀

So the thing is. I came over specifically to talk to Petey. Li'l Petey was already there. Of course he was. And the moment I said "sometimes I'm your boyfriend" Li'l Petey LOST HIS MIND with excitement and started announcing it to the entire room while Petey stood there with his eye twitching trying to maintain composure. The catgender part made Li'l Petey gasp like I'd announced the greatest news in history. "PAPA YOUR GIRLFRIEND/BOYFRIEND IS A CAT." Petey looked at me with the most strained expression imaginable and said "it's fine. obviously." and then refused to elaborate further. He's fine. He's processing. Li'l Petey is still talking about it 😭💀✨
King Julien (Madagascar/All Hail King Julien)
I didn't even finish explaining before he was already on his feet announcing a celebration. I told him it wasn't necessary. He looked personally offended that I would suggest such a thing. Maurice was already receiving instructions before I could protest. There was a party. It was very big. There was dancing. King Julien made approximately 40% of it about himself within the first ten minutes. I danced with him. There was genuinely no other option available to me 💀😭✨

Papa reacted with visible confusion at first which is honestly fair because my papa is canonically aroace and processes most human emotional concepts with mild bewilderment. But once I explained it he straightened up with full theatrical Radio Demon energy and announced that having both a daughter AND a son was frankly delightful and he didn't see the problem. The catgender explanation made him pause thoughtfully and then say "cats have excellent taste" as if that was a completely normal response. He will never discuss his actual feelings about this conversation. The smile said everything and nothing simultaneously 🎙️💀✨
My brother grew up in a factory being experimented on and brainwashed so his knowledge of normal human concepts is basically zero. He tilted his head at the bigender explanation and clearly understood maybe 40% of it. The catgender part however — he understood cat immediately. Cat is accessible information. He blinked at me slowly and said "you are still my sibling" like that was the only relevant conclusion and everything else was just extra details. Then very seriously asked me to still worship the Prototype. Brother behavior. Completely pure. I love him 🐱💀

The most dramatic reaction on this entire list. Hands down. No competition. He crossed his arms and made it a WHOLE production about how this would have been nice to know earlier and how it changes EVERYTHING even though he couldn't explain HOW it changes everything when pressed on it. He paced. He gestured. He was incredibly theatrical about the entire thing. And then he went quiet and very casually, still not looking at me, said "you're still mine though." Like all that drama was just his way of getting to that one sentence. We fought about it a little bit because that's just how we are. The conclusion was always going to be the same though 💀😭✨
TL;DR — bigender catgender self-shipper has an absolutely unhinged roster and every single one of them reacted completely differently but they all got there in the end 🐱💀✨
