something about the movie ending that hit me insanely hard is that grace sends back the figure rocky made of him. this is the first truly alien culture to reach earth physically, a depiction of the body. it captures the first look rocky had of grace, catching the message. its a triumphant moment, its a success, and its depicted in a gas made into a solid, and its blocky by distance and the eva suit but that doesn't matter. it captures a moment of pure joy. joy at the first physical contact between these two beings and the joy at not being alone anymore. bc thats who grace is. "you know who you are". stratt holding it and in that moment she is the same as rocky; this alien she will likely never meet had the same moment of this is him that she had when she picked him. thats who he is.

words can not express how in love i am with how meryl and milly are zazie's blorbos from real life. milly makes a comment about eating worms and thanks it and its like no youre so welcome smile. she loves how milly thinks. meryl is just slightly exasperated but willingly and with no second thought follows zazie into the ship. it wants to hear their opinions. me my girlfriend and this weird hivemind godbeing that keeps pulling up next to me on the desert road.
