Surf sharks kids book review

We really enjoyed this book. The illustrations are accurate but still kid friendly. They are also very colorful and bright. The quality of the book is great,the pages are nice and thick. This book starts deep below the surface with a community of sharks,three shark friends Maverik the mako,Talon the tiger shark and Hemi the hammerhead are discussing the surf competition and Talon expresses his interest in going,his friends try and talk him out of it but he heads off in that direction anyways,so they follow. It switches to three surfer boys Rip,Wade and Ozzy who are just on the beach hanging out when they see something over in the next cove,being curious kids they head over to check it out. The boys are introduced to the sharks and shortly after a huge wave crashes into the beach and tangles Hemi in a net,there are a few shark facts in the book as well and at this point in the book it explain how dangerous this is because sharks need to keep moving to breath,so Rip jumps in to save Hemi but gets caught in a wave until Maverik swoops in to help and puts Rip on his back and they save Hemi. In there dialog Rip mistakes him for a great white and Maverik explains that although the look similar makos are slimmer and faster than white sharks. Maverik latter offers to let the boys ride them in the competition since there boards got broken in the wave crash. After this it proceeds with the competition and the announcements of the winners,of course if your rooting for the boys and want to know if they won you'll have to check out the book.
