NaNoWriMo Day 11

I’m sitting at 31,000 words and I’ve finally hit a breakthrough after remembering that my protagonist is supposed to be a laudanum user (thanks, outline, for completely forgetting that part). Now, after reading up on DMT, I can tie together all my themes of drug use, lucid dreaming, scientific study of a physical soul, and life after death. Bam. Plot holes be gone.

Anybody else aiming for 75k this month? Anybody want to be writing buddies? I’m a great cheerleader. Let’s be friends.

NaNoWriMo

Hey all! This is my first year doing NaNo, and this is my Formal Announcement, etc. If anyone else is doing it and wants to be writing buddies, come find me! Here’s my synopsis:

“It is nineteenth-century Ireland, and an English detective is on the hunt for a serial murderer whose victims all bear the trappings of youth and beauty. More interesting is that each of the victims reported witnessing the Black Dog three days prior to their deaths: an omen seen only by those who have been touched by Faerie magic.

Meanwhile, a university student is writing a controversial thesis on the relationship between body and soul, and as the list of victims grows and rumours of a fae monster surface, the detective begins to suspect there is far more at play than a mere man with violent appetites. But when the detective sees the Black Dog for himself, he has only three days to solve the case before his foretold death catches up to him in the form of either the monster, or the murderer.

(Historical Fantasy. Includes: serial killers; kidnapping; changelings; death omens; making bargains with people you shouldn’t; and the importance of names.)”

Just fyi folks, my computer is completely borked...

I don’t even know if it’s the unexpected dental work or the computer crash that’s the worse thing to hear about.

the dental work is now definitely the worst of the two, bc the hard drive arrived like 4 days early, i got it installed and it’s working! *knocks wood*

ARE YOU STILL TAKING PROMPTS?? (Foggy sat on the edge of the bed, resolutely ignoring the way Matt was practically buzzing out of his skin. "So uh, this is a thing that's happening," he said.)

((ALWAYS))

“Yes, yes it is,” Matt says with a quiver in his voice and Foggy nods resolutely, standing to remove his clothes.  Matt does so as well and seems to be naked in record time…Foggy’s brain short circuits as he watches Matt sit down on the bed again.

Matt bounces his leg in anticipation, Foggy tries and fails not to stare at other parts of his anatomy that are bouncing too. “As nice as your clothing sounds hitting the floor, you do realize that a strip tease is sort of lost on me, right?”

Foggy can’t help but laugh, and just like that the tension breaks, he hurries out of the rest of his clothes before throwing his arms out to the sides, “Ta dah! Nude!”

There’s a brief pause as Matt takes a deep breath and leans forward to press his face into Foggy’s chest at the top of his belly. “Finally.”
