SHARK WEEK 2026 — (1/7) ↝ sharknado 2: the second one (2014)

Watching Sharknado 2: The Second One, mostly because it auto played after the first one and it’s hysterical. The weather woman just said sharks are falling at a rate of “two inches per hour” and I keep losing it every time I re-contemplate that sentence.

Sharks are CAREENING OUT OF THE SKY. People keep catching a shark to the FACE. I thought she was going to say something about miles per hour. But no, no— it is 😂 vital to know 😂 that if they were liquid they would cover all of Manhattan 😂 😂 in two inches of shark within about an hour, I’m 🤣 🦈 🤣

Another highlight is when Fin (main character, haunted by shark tornados because of his name or something) tells his cab driver (Judd Hirsch) that “You can do it—” (swing across shark infested waters on a rope) “—Ben!” And Ben is just like, “But only one of my legs is real.”

Also I just noticed that: they got supplies from a toy store (I do not know why this was anyone’s first thought, but it’s what the second love interest (??) came up with when Fin couldn’t find a hardware store and instead went off to get bomb supplies from a pizza parlor) and the store name on the bags is YOLO R’ US.

… Anyway, that’s how they got the slingshot for firing bombs made out of little bitty propane tanks into the tornado, to kill it. Even though “Even a sharknado’s tougher in New York.” Oh my god this is so bad it’s spectacular

Dunno why she has a GODDAMN SWORD though.

They made a bigger bomb. It is four propane tanks duct taped together.

“The water is rising, the lobby is flooded! Why are you going down?!” “FLAMING SHARKS!” I mean… as reasons go, that one is not uncompelling.

He is going to throw Freon into the twisters to freeze them to death. Now he is giving a motivational speech that includes acknowledging the following about sharks: “They’re scary.” Now he’s leaning back to slow motion chainsaw through a flying shark because, as the movie previously established, they’re falling two inches per hour—

THE EX-WIFE NOW HAS. A CHAINSAW. FOR A HAND.

New York has declared war on Shark with guns and pitchforks. Bikers are handing out chainsaws from their trucks. Talk news anchors are killing sharks on camera. Our intrepid hero rides a shark down onto the big spike on the Empire State Building, needs a weapon and the nearest dead shark happens to be the ONE THAT ATE THE EX-WIFE’S LEFT HAND EARLIER IN THE MOVIE. Said hand is still holding a gun. Once the day is saved, he throws away both the gun AND HER HAND, keeping only the ring from her finger in order to RE-PROPOSE.

It’s insane. It’s so stupid. I can’t stop cackling about two inches of shark per hour.

I can’t believe one of my favorite franchises is ending tonight. It’s been a long 5 years. But the ending is finally here. I’m going to miss this franchise every year. Thank you Sharknado cast, and even the sharks. Thank you for the past 5 years for these adventures. Hopefully they’ll be another one way down the road from now.
