With a deep breath, the slightest hint of nervousness lurking in the back of his mind, he walked down the steps further into the establishment. The Waking Sands, the reception had said... perhaps a true statement, given how very sandy and dry Ul'dah seemed indeed -- thus far. The notion that he might have grown too old for such travels was one he quickly tossed; as a White Mage, within a realm in need, his assistance was in greater demand elsewhere than within his long-time home.

... Yet, the whisper of the elementals, the native wildlife and plant life, and the loamy, lush scents of Gridania were already missed dearly, regardless of the wonders of the outside world. How odd it was to take such comforts for granted, for all his life, up until he traveled elsewhere.

Presenting the single sealed letter the Elder Seedseer had written to the Scions' leader to the two guards in front of the door, E-Sumi took the time for yet another deep inhale of breath. He had surely been through more trying, more frightening times before -- the duration of the Calamity, as blurry a memory as it was, came to mind -- simply, he had never been truly alone in them.

As the door to the solar was opened, he steeled himself before walking forward into the room -- for any and all possibilities. He would, as he always had, retain the logical, steadfast mind he had always been. This unease, this slight nervousness would not stop him from his new task; E-Sumi met the eyes of the taller woman when he reached an appropriate distance, as the guard delivered the letter to her from the Elder Seedseer.
