@sharp-sizzuhs Thank you for sending this in! I haven't written SpeirsRoe before--I hope I absolutely NAIL it for you, or at least make a legally passable attempt and they don't have to put me in front of a firing squad. Let's Go
8. Cabaret - Liza Minelli [Listen on Youtube]
They're not actually in the bar. That would be foolish. Too many lights, too many people. No, it's better really to sit on a bench across the street, watching the shadows of bodies moving inside, listening to the distant sound of conversation and laughter. "What are we going to do now?" Gene asks. "Think we going to the pacific?" Ron shrugs. He doesn't have it in him to think about it. The way he sees it, either you live, or you don't. So, while you live, you had better not worry about the future, or the past. You can live in fear, or you can just live. "Everyone's too drunk to wonder where we are," he says after a moment, "I think we could take advantage of that." Gene smiles and shakes his head, still not looking at him. "I figured as much," he says. "You only ever think about taking advantage."
ahh this was fun, and I LOVE Cabaret; it weirdly does work well for Speirs, in a philosophical 'you only live once, and you don't know for how long' kind of way.
Send me a character or ship, and a number between 1-100, and I’ll write a flash fic based on my Spotify Wrapped!
