Tank and Wesley enjoyed their first time out on long lines today. They live in a neighborhood that is super packed with houses and people so this means they dont have a yard to just be dogs in. We walked down to an area that had a pretty big open field, attached the 15ft long lines, and let them go! They enjoyed sniffing everything and running around. We did this for about 20 minutes. When walking back to the house they were ready for a nap. If you live somewhere where your dog cannot just roam and be a dog i.e a big fenced in property and they only can be outside on 6ft or shorter leashes, try finding an open field and long lines. Make sure the field is open to the public (doesn't have any signs saying no trespassing) and bring your poop bags! Letting dogs be dogs really helps them mentally and physically. Especially if you live in a compact city environment. This 20 minute session in the field tired them out more than a 20 minute walk on only sidewalk pavement. Slick is looking so much better and acting super goofy. He gets along with ALL of my dogs(even if he is snapped at by the other dog, he keeps his cool) and has even curbed his interest in the cats. As soon as his skin is finished healing he will be ready for a new forever(furever) home. He came to us with severe allergic dermatitis and separation anxiety.
