The former gladiator nods his head as he considers Cat's words. He leaves his hand on the boy's forearm. He feels as though he will disappear into thin air if he lets go of him.
"Neutral ground. I can respect that," the boy is mature in Gav's eyes. Even if his concerns of disrupting the peace of Ben's home feels like an excuse to avoid intimacy rather than concern for Ben's wellbeing.
But what does he know? He's no mind reader. He can't know for certain what the kid thinks. He can only imagine through the lens of his own experiences.
"Mint green," he muses. That color reminds him of Julio, and his grip on Cat's arm tightens a little. Both Julio and himself were at the mercy of Mojoworlders with the ability to clone at some point in their lives, and this kid looks like the result of some meddling done by them.
Gav doesn't pity Cat. He feels sympathy for the kid, and admires that he made his way to Earth.
"Let us go." He takes a step towards the mint green cafe, expecting the kid to either follow him or bolt. Can he teleport like Gav himself?
