One last breath and it was time to go. The assistant near the stage nodded towards me and I sat my right foot in front of my left foot. Loud music and deafening cheers erupted, and a big smile found its way onto my face. My hips swayed to the beat and I waved at the crowd, blowing kisses in every direction. It was a great honour to open a Victorias Secret Show, especially since I was the youngest model that’s ever walked one of their shows. At the end of the runway, I struck a pose and winked at the camera, before I blew it a kiss and turned around, walking back to the other end of the runway. I met another one of the models halfway and we smiled at each other and our fingers brushed while we walked by each other. By the time I reached the end, another model was starting to walk out, and I smiled at her, while I hurried behind the curtains to take of my outfit and put on the next one. My make-up got changed and someone quickly freshened up my hair. It went this way the hole evening, until it was time for the walk, I was most excited about. After all, my boyfriend was going to be performing on stage, during this walk. As the first cords of ‘Lost in Japan’ started, I started to dance and sing along, barely being able to wait for my turn. Through the television beside the line up of the models, I watched Shawn perform and grinned to myself. I still couldn’t believe that such a pure and beautiful human being was mine. The model in front of me began to walk and I took one step forward, staring at the assistant, waiting for the nod. And when It came, I could barely contain my joy. With a bit of an extra swing in my hips, I walked out onto the runway and saw my boyfriend’s back. I needed to physically stop myself from just running to him and throwing my arms around his neck. I walked to the beat of his song, one of my favourites, and sang along. I was still quiet far away when Shawn turned around and saw me. A grin spread across his lips and he ran to me. As soon as he was close to me, he held out his hand and I grabbed it, intertwining our fingers. Together we strut down the runway, him singing and me modelling. Short before the runway ended, he let go of my hand, but kept his arm high, as if he was still trying to touch me. I did a pose and send a wink towards the crowd at the far end, before I turned back to my boyfriend. He was now at the far back of the runway and smiled at me. And exactly at that moment, the music changed. He lowered his microphone and just stood before me. Then, the other models came out of the back and lined up along the runway, building a tunnel that led to Shawn. Each of them held a single flower and when I walked past them, they handed it to me. At the end, I had a whole bouquet of all my favourite flowers in my hand. Shawn took my empty hand in his and kneeled down in front of me. “I know that we don’t know each other for all that long and that proposing too soon is usually not a good idea, but I love you Y/N. I love you with all of my being and I never want to spend a day away from you. Both of our jobs take up a lot of time, but I want to spend every second that I have in this life, with you. So, if you’d do me the honour of becoming my wife, I’d be the happiest man alive.” My eyes were wide and the hand that held the flowers was trembling. “What kind of idiot would I be if I said ‘no’?” He chuckled and pulled a ring from the pocket of his jacket. Carefully, he slid it onto my left ring finger. When it was one, he looked up at me and shot me one of his adorable grins. Then he jumped to his feet and scooped me up, bringing me into a tight hug and a passionate kiss. Cheers erupted all around us and we were swarmed with people. All the models came over and congratulated me on my engagement. Some seemed honestly happy for me, others jealous. But I didn’t care, I had the man I’d always dreamed of. Speaking of him: while we were being swarmed by people and the commentator said his thanks and goodbye to the audience, Shawn didn’t let go of my hand even once. When everyone had calmed down, my parents, who had been there for my first show, were allowed onto the stage and hugged me and Shawn. All in all, it was the best time of my life. The second time we did the show, it went just as well, as the first. But this time, I was running with a glittering and sparkling silver band around my left ring finger.
