dash and echo's last hours together was just them sitting opposite each other in the arena, making lists of responsibilities one would have to take care of upon returning home if the other died. dash was sure it would be him because he was bleeding pretty badly from his last altercation, and had all but come to terms with echo winning and coming home when a contender came out of nowhere with a longsword and stabbed her in the kidney.
