“i told you, i don’t do charity.” lips are in a hard line and there’s a soft, conflicted furrow in his brow. still not sure if the price of swallowing his pride is worth a summer traveling with shannon. he inhales slow, exhales a sigh. “i can’t just disappear for months.” at least not again. “i have stuff i gotta do here. responsibilities.” tone implies shannon cooper doesn’t have any of those.

she’s stood besides a tree with a cup of fruity drink in her hand, watching one of shannon’s annual parents aren’t home this weekend parties take place. it wasn’t that madison was anti-fun, but sometimes she just wanted to relax for a weekend. and it was hard to do with people kept banging on the pool house windows trying to get in or the loud music that kept her op. cue her finally agreeing to come out and play.      “ shannon. “      the blond laughs with a tilt of her head. shaking her head, free hand reaches out and grabs the others.      “  once dance, okay? then we’re shutting the party down before the cops are called. again. “

shannon gifts augustine sexy lingerie ! / @shaycooper​

augustine’s return from college has her reaching out to friends she’d lost contact with. while her reignition with jay was unintentional, it was realistic that he would be one of her first calls, the chance of circumstance simply made it easier. less awkward -- but, one person she knew she would reach out to was shannon cooper. the woman had been an essential piece of her own coming of age story. helped her get in touch with the femininity that she had taught herself to disdain. it was this fragile and girly element that only shannon cooper could demonstrate so effortlessly, make it all seem easy until it was.

the two agreed upon meeting over lunch. rather than the dot, which was a staple in the community, they went to a cute little cafe. once again, in touch with that feminine elegancy. augustine arrived first, and she wonders if she’d overdressed. straightened hair and a lavender sundress -- and yeah, she’d done her make up to have a soft element. as if she had something prove to shannon cooper, as if she’s showing off for her.

eyes are alight when the woman walks in, and she’s standing, smiling from ear to ear. “oh my god,” she gushes, reaching to set her hand on her chest, “you look amazing, i missed you!” shannon hadn’t changed a bit, but had changed all the same. she’d grown into herself. filled out features and frame. she was beautiful, always had been -- but her twenties suited her well. “what’ve you been up to, i need to hear everything !”

reunion ~ @shaycooper

“hey, do you guys have snickerdoodles?” ready with a restrained smile, craig knows exactly what he’s doing. the amount of people from degrassi that he’s kept up with are few and far between - in part due to lack of time, mostly because of carelessness - but he’s remained aware of what shannon’s been up to. he hopes the same isn’t true for her - craig breezes into her little bakery with several rehab stints and assorted scandals in his wake, but it’s probably the least of his worries. they didn’t end things on particularly good terms.

being in the neighborhood, fresh off tour, was a purposeful move. he’s here specifically to see her, make amends in the way craig’s been prone to doing more and more as he gets older. that, or brace himself for hell. he’s still clad in leather jacket, still stands with that nonchalant confidence. all that’s really different is the evidence of age. he’s got a distant five o’clock shadow, dark eyes crinkle at the edges. and she looks... god, the same. makes his smile widen despite how he’s received. tilts his head at her, jerks his thumb off to the side. “i just -- used to know a girl who could make insanely good snickerdoodles.”

“it’s fine,” sean insists, the loveseat creaking under his weight. socked feet are folded over one of the arms and it probably looks comical in a way that makes his jaw tick. so much for the cottage having room for all of them. he huffs a sigh and looks across the room at her, tucked away in the spare bed. “-- there’s not enough room for both of us.”

“Do you have a Valentine yet?” ( and for craig ofc ) / @shaycooper​

“yeah,” craig answers automatically before shaking his head, brow furrowing at his own word vomit. “i mean, no. not yet.” another beat, he leans forward on the glass case of cupcakes. “that’s why i’m here.”

she’d been doing well, really. offering up perfectly relaxed, pleasant conversation when craig had imposed himself onto her business again after several days of not showing his face. he’d needed a little time to, frankly, grow some balls. do a little risk assessment, like he’d learned in group. is this something i truly want and need or am i being impulsive? he’s sure this isn’t spontaneity or instant gratification now. 

what he isn’t certain of is shannon, but craig figures it’ll settle things either way. “i’m sure you have a valentine,” he guesses passively. eyes are on her, vaguely manic, but in the way he naturally gets when he has a good, potentially crazy idea. he’s got the shadow of a smile on his lips. “i think you should blow him off.”

“do you ever feel… like… you know… things? like… those warm… feelings?” asked @shaycooper​

the question comes out of nowhere; at least in auggie’s eyes. the two are sprawled out in augustine’s bed, shoulder inches away from the other’s, and auggie put on one of her favorite records for the two to truly think to : willie nelson’s stardust. her eyes had been closed, fingers tapping into her mattress to the rhythm of blue skies, and she only peaks out of one to look over at her.

“like ... romantic feelings?” she asks, “or just ... warm feelings, like feelings of gratitude and love for someone?” auggie’s silent, contemplative as she chews on the concept, “both, i’ve felt both, yeah,” she blinks, shifting her full attention over to shannon - curiosity written on her features.

“go ahead, tell me why you bring it up? who’s got you feeling those little warm and fuzzies?”

“-- hey.” sean’s the very picture of a puppy with it’s tail between his legs, leaned up against the doorway of her bedroom. there’s the distinct sense that nothing’s different, his lips pursed in a way that seems like his mind is unchanged and he’s still going to leave, but he’s hoping maybe she’s softened to the idea. “can’t ignore me forever.” really, it’s been maybe two days. might as well be forever. “can i come in?”
