The fact that Brie and Shay were currently sitting at the back of a puppet show at the zoo was... Well, comical, really. Brie certainly wasn't maternal, and Shay didn't strike the blonde as the type who had interest in motherhood. But, the latter had been dealt an unexpected hand with the death of her brother, and Brie was happy to show her support. Silas was young enough that he didn't seem to know what was going on, at least. They all felt the sting of Owen's passing -- Brie hadn't been particularly close to him, but she'd known Shay for years and still felt the loss. It was the price of the club, something she'd never had to look right in the eye; Something she hoped she never did.
"He seems like he's adjusting well," she comments, nodding towards Shay's nephew. While Brie had no interest in children, she was happy to take on the role of Aunt. The two year old seemed entranced by the puppet show in front of him, happily clapping along to some song about lions. "All things considered, I guess. --- Are you?" She finds herself asking the obvious, genuinely wanting the answer.
