In 20 years I only had 3 mixers: GEMINI, Technics Sh-dj 1200 and a Rane 62. Selling my previous equipment to get a new one is not an option. I keep all my previous mixers like trophy 🏆. The words ”game changer” are clearly overused when it comes Dj mixers but to me the Technics Sh-DJ 1200 was the true game changer. Giving us the smoothest grossfader we ever seen (and the most fragile) and opening the door to a new scratch era. Pieces of history are not for sell, I'll keep mine ✨ . . . . . ”Mixers are, at their most simple, a way to bring the best out of the sound feeding through them. Whereas the first wave of models did absolutely nothing more than blend signals together – which remains true of some modern descendants – the spiritual importance that began to percolate around DJing helped to propagate the idea that mixers can somehow get those in control of them closer to sonic perfection. Tiny details can make or break a model – or even an entire company, should they lose a step. The sound of a filter or the placement of a crossfader are ruthlessly scrutinised. The evolution of mixer technology dovetails with the historical development of new techniques, the emergence of new musical genres and the increasing power of audio processing technology.” . . . . . . #djmixer #technics1200 #shdj1200 #dj #technologicevolution #scratch #twochannelmixer (à New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B48VCOiA9K4/?igshid=12bmc4rd4dlz
