Wednesday, June 20, 2012 continued.... Sadly, this was to be my last ever visit to Shea's gas station in Springfield, Illinois, but on this perfect 66 morning I found Bill Shea at his post, sitting in the shade behind the old pumps. Bill passed on in 2013, and all the stuff at his gas station has been sold off or carted elsewhere. I still remember our first conversation back in 2005, and it was nice to say hello one last time. Bill's wife and son were also on hand during this last visit, with everyone in good spirits, so I will long remember my last visit as well.
