Uh the original Star Wars trilogy.
which of course I love but yeah, Father/Son dynamic takes importance. there's one brief little talk about their mother. That's it. (And then George Lucas was like, 'let's have padme see luke first and longer trololol' yeah, thanks, George.)
and I'm not trying to say that we should stop having dynamics with dads in genre movies, but I also think that it's incredibly important to start cutting back and to not complain when a movie doesn't include a paternal figure for major characters because the mother is the important one.
(and again, it isn't like there isn't a father in it; Jupiter's dad is obviously important, and Jupiter obviously does feel a void in her life caused by never getting to know him. but again, that's the thing - this is Jupiter's identity arc we're watching, and Seraphi's unhappy love life and/or whoever's sperm she chose for her kids? not really vital. so they didn't bother. it's glorious.)
