Thirty-five-year-old Suman Gautam, who was in her kitchen to make tea on Wednesday morning, but went shocked when saw a five-foot-long, male, Indian Rock Python snake in her kitchen. The Sheetla Colony occupant had grabbed the gas lighter to touch off the stove, when she spotted something moving under it. It took Suman under 10 minutes to alarm her husband and the whole neighbourhood.
"I got a call around 8.40 am from my wife and her voice was trembling with fear; she was wailing. She said there was a big snake in the kitchen. I instantly called the wildlife helpline number and told them to reach my home. It was the first time when that she had seen the reptile throughout everyday life," Satish Kumar Gautam, a automobile executive who works in Bhiwani, said.
Indeed, even as the wildlife rescue team Anil Gandas took a hour to reach the spot, rescuing the python, who at this point had turned into the thing of attention of the whole neighbourhood, took somewhat more.
"I was in Faridabad when I got the call. When I reached the house, I initially had asked every one of the occupants who had accumulated there to remain quiet and not to disturb the reptile, which was hiding up in an utensil rack," Gandas said. Occupants of Block-A, Sheetla Colony, who were at the Gautam residence said the reptile had turned out to be restless and was attempting to get away.
As indicated by woods division authorities, this is the 15th Indian Rock Python to be rescued in the city this year. Aside from the city, pythons have been located and saved from Sohna Dhani, Ghata, Gadoli Khurd and Baliyawas towns.
"This is the first time through a python was found inside a house in the city," Gandas said.
Kumar shared that the Gurugram wildlife office has gotten to 698 calls since January 1, this year. In Palam Vihar occupants murdered a cobra in June.
In the mean time, another five-foot-since quite a while ago spectacled cobra, weighing 2.5kg, was rescued from Gadoli Khurd town, roughly six kilometers from Gurugram. The snake was spotted close to the government senior secondary school wall in the afternoon.
Both the rescued reptiles were released in forest near Manesar on Wednesday evening.
