In Boruto movie novel, it has proven that Sai was a vague man who went through harsh times. You noticed that Sai is not friends with Sakura in Boruto. As soon as Sakura got pregnant with Sarada, it’s like their friendship ended. The cool thing is that Sai talked about Sarada and the other team Konohamaru members. He didn’t mentioned their names, but you can see that he was talking about them. It just wasn’t directly.
Urg…This one kind of make me feel sad for Sai.
I think it is “Boruto” so they probably don’t want to go further back and focus on previous relationship especially the side characters or they just simply forget about Sai and Sakura’s relationship. Or probably Team 7 never really care about Sai ;_; I mean…. They do…But they hardly mentioned about it….that He is part of Team 7
But to be fair, maybe it’s hard to put in about their relationship between them in the plot? I dunno I don’t really care about “Boruto” \(=w=)/

You know SaiSaku make alot more sense because of the build-up of their relationship through out the whole series. Probably Sai could have had one sided feelings for Sakura . And Wasn’t Sai the one who always noticed when Sakaura made a fake smile??Oh GOD My saiino heart is hurting so bad right now but i am okie…I love being suffered like this
