Shiro, I will protect you!

Begging or praying was never a keith thing. Since the death of his father he had been in foster system and with his shitty luck, he quickly fogured out begging and praying for something does nothing good.

Nobody cares about you. You have to get your shit together all by yourself. That has been the truth of life for keith. As a result, keith's only coping mechanism was rebelling or silencing. It never changed despite meeting shiro.

Cause he kept that attitude for whole life, and although meeting shiro has changed his life significantly, other people wouldn't have known how to handle him. As a result, his world became shiro-which was quite opposite to what shiro has expected.

Shiro wanted keith's world to expand, using himself as a bridge. But due to his anxiety(because of illness and running out of time) and people's lack of patience and understanding, instead, Keith's world became shiro.

So keith's coping mechanism remained the same. Instead of understanding other people, he solely relied on shiro(and that changes when he meets team voltron but that's much later).

But when he finds out shiro's departure to kerberos, and the fact that shiro will be gone after the mission, he realizes there's nothing he can do. Shiro has already made up his mind and nothing of his coping mechanism will make him stay-he's helpless.

But shiro was his everything. He was the only thing he could have-for the first time, and maybe last time in forever. Shiro meant world for him. And his world was about to leave him.

So for the first time since his father's death, Keith begged.

"Please, shiro."

It almost came out as a whisper, but it was loud enough for shiro to hear.

"Dont leave me."

But shiro left.

Maybe i would write more about this someday but this was all i could think right now so....

Keith thinks he's not worthy enough to be with shiro, so all he can do is begging.

Shiro partially wants to stay with keith, but since his life is running out, so he choose to leave something.
